PROJECT

FLIPPED CLASSROOM

Raising the Bar: Navigating the Legal System is a course that prepares child welfare case managers for testifying in court.

Needs analysis: Workers had a difficult time presenting cases in court. Additionally, the agency needed to cut the cost of travel to trainings.

My role: Convert the existing face-to-face course to the flipped classroom format (self-paced online and 1 face-to-face session) and develop all training materials including video lectures, infographics, and reading materials. In the second phase of this project, I transitioned the face-face session to a virtual classroom.

PROJECT

VIRTUAL INSTRUCTOR LED CLASSROOM

Opioid Use, Impact, and Treatment course  was a project on which I worked not only as an instructional designer but also as a curriculum writer.

Needs analysis: Many case managers were not aware of the nature of opioid addiction. Since many counties in GA suffer from the opioid epidemic, it was important to build awareness around the impact of opioids on a brain and treatment.

My role: Research and develop content, design and develop all training materials, evaluate course post launch, and include updates.

PROJECT

INSTRUCTOR LED CLASSROOM / VILT

LGBTQ Youth in the Child Welfare System: On the Path to Equity was a course initially designed as a classroom training and later redesigned into a virtual instructor led training.

Needs analysis: As LGBTQ youth is overrepresented in the child welfare, case managers need to know about the unique needs and challenges of this population as well as how to become advocates for LGBTQ youth.

My role: Research and develop content, design and develop all training materials for ILT, and convert the course to VILT
